FAQs
Coomes Landscape Services
How long does it take for my grass to come in?
During hardscape installation, existing grass may be removed or damaged and replaced with new sod. With proper watering, your new lawn will typically begin to sprout within nine to 15 days. Can I weed-treat a new lawn?
Treating a newly reseeded lawn for weeds is not recommended, as weed treatments can damage or kill new grass before it becomes established. Any weeds that appear in a newly seeded lawn, regardless of seed quality, can be addressed once the grass has matured. How often should I prune my trees?
Pruning frequency varies by tree species, but most trees benefit from annual or bi-annual pruning to remove dead branches. Regular pruning maintains plant health and reduces the risk of branch damage during heavy snow and ice storms.Do patios require sealing? How often?
While not mandatory, sealing your patio helps prevent staining from organic materials such as leaves. Some patio materials come pre-sealed from the manufacturer. For concrete patios that have been sealed, resealing every three years helps maintain their appearance. Is waterfall maintenance required?
Regular maintenance is necessary to keep your hardscaped waterfall clean and prevent buildup. Coomes Landscape Services installs both pond waterfalls and filtered waterfalls. Pond waterfalls naturally accumulate algae and require the most maintenance, as debris can obstruct water flow and affect water clarity. Filtered or pondless waterfalls need less maintenance due to continuous water movement that inhibits algae growth, though filters should be inspected monthly during operation and replaced when dirty.
